Actor Henry Winkler to Auction His Fonz Leather Jacket Worn in “Happy Days” for Charity | Show biz

KUALA LUMPUR, December 6 – The iconic leather jacket worn by Henry Winkler in Happy Days will be auctioned off for charity.

In addition to the jacket worn by Winkler’s character Arthur Fonzerelli, costumes, accessories and other memorabilia from his acting career will be in the spotlight at the “TCM Presents … Hollywood Cool” sale at home. Bonhams auction in Los Angeles on Wednesday, December 8.

Winkler’s full Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli outfit, which includes Levi’s jeans, a white t-shirt, black engineer boots and the iconic leather jacket, is expected to sell for between US $ 50,000 (RM 211,400) and US $ 80,000 (RM 338,240), CNN reported.

The jacket is one of at least seven purchased for the show, according to the auction site.

One of the jackets is at the Smithsonian Institution.

The silver Triumph motorcycle “The Fonz” rode throughout the 10 years of ABC comedy is expected to sell for between US $ 80,000 and $ 120,000 (RM507,360) according to Bonhams.

Fonz’s mechanic suits, a uniform shirt from his brief stint in the U.S. Army reserves, and the cowboy boots he wore in Season 6 ranch episodes are also on sale.

“I’ll never say goodbye because it’s always in my heart and always in my head. It was the show that threw me into the world and I will always be grateful, ”Winkler reportedly said.

“Letting go of a physical thing in no way lessens the enormity of the experience.”

Winker has also recorded scripts, photos, letters and all kinds of other things from other projects over the years that go into the auction.

He said he donates much of the proceeds from the sale to a non-profit organization his daughter Zoe started with two friends that helps separated and recently reunited families on the U.S. border.
